Origin and preparation
Jinyinhua is flower bud of Lonicera japonica Thunb, Lonicera hypoglauca Miq., Lonicera confusa DC. or Lonicera dasystyla Rehd., family Caprifoliaceae. It is extracted, removed impurity, vacuum dried, or spray dried to be made into powder by adopting modern scientific technology. Every g powder is equal to crude drug 2.6g.

Description
Slight-brown fine powder, delicate fragrance, mild and slight bitter in taste.

Identification
0.1g of concentrated jinyinhua powder with methanol 5ml is undergone ultrasonic extract for half an hour, filter, and filtered fluid is for experiment. Inaddition, take chlorogenic acid as standard control and add methanol to make into contrast lotion with 1ml containing 1mg. Conduct the experiment according to thin-layer chromatography (Chinese pharmacopeia 1995 version appendix B). Take 10-20μl solution and standard control solution 10μl and dip them on same 0.5%CMC-Na silica gel H thin plate with upper lotion of acetic acid butyrin-methanoic acid-water(7: 2.5:2.5) as developer. Develop, take out, dry, and examine under ultraviolet lamp (365nm). On the place corresponding to chromatography of standard control solution, there appear same color fluorescent spot.

Contents Determination
According to Chinese pharmacopeia 1995 version appendix VID high-performance liquid chromatography, determine the content of chlorogenic acid.

Examination
Moisture: Not allowed to exceed 6.0%
Heavy metal: Not allowed to exceed 10ppm
Arsenate: Not allowed to exceed 2ppm.
Residual pesticide: Not allowed to have detectable residual pesticide that are commonly used in China(such as DDT, benzene hexachloride, DDV and rogor).
